Majors & Concentrations
Carleton College offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in 37 academic majors. Students may also design their own major, with faculty guidance and approval.
Students may elect to earn a concentration in addition to their major. A concentration is an interdisciplinary study, usually focused on problems and issues that cut across the boundaries of two or more academic disciplines.
Carleton also offers a variety of special programs and certifications, including foreign language certifications, education licensure, and pre-professional programs.

Professional Preparation
Each year many Carleton students enter a professional school after completing a bachelor's degree. Carleton has pre-law, pre-med, and pre-engineering advisers, as well as faculty advisers in all departments who will help advise students on professional preparation in the field of their choice. Students interested in preparation for other fields such as architecture, business, and journalism can work with their faculty adviser to select the proper course of study.
