Adding Users

  1. In the Master Admin, go to Users and select Create User.
  2. Give the new user a username.
  3. If this is a new install of Reason, you probably haven't integrated it with a authentication system yet. Therefore, you can leave the Authoritative Source field -- which indicates whether Reason or an external system is responsible for the user's data -- set to "Reason." (For more information on this field, see the section "How to integrate Reason with your authentication and/or directory system(s)" [not currently available -- contact us for assistance on integrating Reason with your directory/authentication service(s)]. Fill out the rest of the form, making sure to give the new user a password (and confirming that password).
  4. If you have integrated Reason with an external authentication system, you can opt to add a user whose authoritative information -- password, directory data, etc -- is stored in an external system. Just enter their username and select "external" for the autoritative source.
  5. Save and Continue Editing.
  6. Now you can assign this user to his/her appropriate audiences, give this user editing rights to minisites, and/or assign the user to a user role, using the links on the left of the form:
    • Audience assignment: If this is a Reason-authoritatative user, you can assign them to audiences so that they can be included in dynamic, audience-based groups.
    • User roles: Choose the appropriate role for this user. See the section User Roles for more information about what each role does.
      Editing rights:
  7. Finish... you're done.
