"Realizing my calling as a journalist was an important turning point in my life." Brandon’s oratorical skills have always made him stand out among his peers. Combine that with his thirst for keeping up with politics and current events and it’s no surprise that he’s been planning a career in journalism since the seventh grade. Throughout his high school years, he’s honed his newswriting technique as a reporter and as editor-in-chief of his school’s newspaper. For the past two years, Brandon has worked as an assignment editor for New Orleans’ ABC affiliate, WGNO, and as the anchorperson and executive producer of his school’s weekly TV news magazine, the Purple Pride Show (which is seen citywide on New Orleans’ public access network). Brandon plans to pursue a major in political science enroute to a career as a broadcast journalist.
