At one point during President Oden's speech at graduation last weekend he said, "You are Carleton students no longer."  I've known this day was coming for the past year, but it was still a shocking realization.  I'm done with college.  I'll repeat it, to accentuate its importance.  I'm done with college.  And since I have no immediate plans for grad school, that means my life is going to be seriously lacking the structure of academia.  And, just as frightening, it means I have to grow up and be an adult...MORE

Last week I had seen a ton of posters up around campus about a performance art piece that was going on called Piano Burning.  The posters made sure to advertise that the performance would include an actual piano being burned.  While I was sitting in the music lab arranging my song for Exit (unfortunately I didn't finish because the program crashed and I lost motivation and just played guitar) I heard some of the music majors talking about it and a few of them were talking about going to get the piano and scrape all the paint off of it before burning it...MORE

I realized I don't often just talk about what I did on the weekend, which is always a question that comes up on tours.  Of course, each weekend is different, and this weekend was a little different, too, since we had the second Accepted Student Days this weekend...MORE

Guess what I did today (along with about 200 other Carleton students)?  Danced for 4 hours.  And watched other people dance.  Today was the first Ebony showing, so everyone in Ebony shows the dances they've been working on for the last 3 weeks and we all get to watch the dances we aren't in.  Of course, with 200 dancers and over 20 dancers this takes a while...MORE

Anyone walking anywhere between Sayles and the Library (and let's be honest that's basically everyone on campus) today is bound to know that today is Kate Malecek's birthday.  Who is Kate Malecek?  I don't know, but last night her friends went to town on the sidewalks with some chalk and now the whole campus knows...MORE

This weekend I'm holding my Senior Concert.  Having a Senior Concert is a long standing tradition at Carleton for ALL half Asian singer/songwriters.  No, not really (I'm not sure there are any other half asian singer/songwriters...yet).  But it's something I've been meaning to host for a few years now.  I came to Carleton and performed my song "All My Life" at the Freshman Talent Show during New Student Week (which I HIGHLY recommend).  Since then, I feel like I've been a very active part of the Carleton music scene...MORE

The term is winding down (tomorrow is our last day of class) and winter decided to hit us with another snow storm.  Actually, it wasn't a snow storm at all.  We've had really nice weather the past week or so (my roommate has been wearing his flip flops, which I think is a little extreme but...) and this was just MN deciding that before we all head off for spring break we should remember where we are.  Anyways, let's do a quick little wrap up of this past weekend and what's in store for Carleton in the next few days...MORE
