There's been a lot of free food the past few days on campus.  Last night there was a meeting for students who had been involved in New Student Week (our version of freshman orientation).  We just hired a new Dean of Students, and in order to get a better idea of what worked and what didn't she's been talking to students a lot to get our perspective.  I think it's really great that she's going to so much trouble to really get our input on a lot of these issues, and she's providing us with dinner so that's always a plus.  The Campus Activties Office overestimated how hungry we were going to be and bought over 15 pizzas, and so at the end there was a lot left over.  Joel and I were heading back to the Libe, so we brought 4 boxes of pizza with us.  And some cookies.  We ended up eating most of the cookies on the walk from Sayles to the Libe, but we then walked around the Libe giving out free pizza.

This morning I was working on a paper and one of the librarians approached me to let me know that pizza actually falls under the "smelly and greasy food" category, therefore it should not be allowed in the library.

Now goign back in time, this was a big weekend.  Friday night was Senior Movie night at SUMO (student union movie organization) and they had all the seniors vote for a movie from our childhood.  The winner was Jurassic Park (some of the other choices were 10 Things I Hate About You, Titanic, Lion King, and Men In Black) and I personally didn't go (it was my housemate's birthday) but I heard every time Samuel L. Jackson came on the screen there was a lot of cheering.

Friday was ALSO the Beard Auction in the Sevy Tea Room.  Gods of Plastic, or GOP, is one of the 5 (3 men, 2 women) Ultimate Frisbee teams, and the Beard Auction is their annual fundraiser so they can go to a big frisbee tournament.  This year they're going to Las Vegas.  Anyways, the members of the team grow out their beards/moustaches/hair in general and then each member is auctioned off.  The winner of each guy gets to choose how his beard is styled, and the GOP member has to keep it that way until last night (so they had to go to class one day with their new beard/hair).
