A Post of Words and Pictures

Well, hi.

I'm extraordinarily tired right now.  Classes are keeping me quite busy, along with cross country and bible studies and whatnot.  Cross country has not been going very well for me this term.  I've been inexplicably tired and so I haven't been able to compete or do workouts.  So that's been a bummer.

A transforming Lego robot that I made at Cross Country camp.  This is the spaceship form.

This is the robot form!

Carleton Graphic recently put out it's 2nd issue of the year (the 15th issue of all time!).  It was quite a good issue, although the printing was kind of messed up so there were little horizontal flecks of white space.  I made the cover for the first time!  It was a comic that you could read, but the shapes in the panels spelled "GRAPHIC.  You should probably just look at it rather than me trying to explain it to you.

It's just about big enough that you can read it, I think.  Unless you have poor eyesight, in which case, I am sorry that it is not bigger.  I know, I can make alt-text so you can read the panels.  Panel text (hover mouse over to read): [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7].

Check out old Carleton comics issues here!  We're currently working on an epic masterpiece of collaborative proportions.  Or perhaps it's a collaborative masterpiece of epic proportions.  Or a collaborative epic proportional to masterpieces!  Anyways, we're making a whole issue that's one big collaboration.  I'm not sure how secret it is, so I'll leave it at that, but it's definitely going to be our most ambitious project yet.  I'll keep you posted, it'll be coming out at the end of the term.

As a part of living in fish house, last week I helped organize an event!  We decided on a campfire/open mic with s'mores.  I made posters and filled out the online form.  It was the first time I had ever registered an event with student activities and everything went really smoothly.  The people that came had a great time I think, and it was a cool experience for me to be involved in.

Campfire poster
The poster I made for the event.  Drawn with brush pen and colored in Photoshop.  Note the Fish house logo thing that I made--the "f" is a fish!

Once again, I have to say that I love living in Fish house.  It's so different than living in a dorm.  It's much harder for me to avoid people which is really nice.  I'm never anonymous.  It's also just a great place to hang out.  Come visit me!

Well, I'm gonna go now.  See you later,

Peace,
Jon
