When my dad was here last weekend, he and I drove out to the Carleton Wind Turbine. I had spent all summer telling tour groups about the turbine, but I had never actually been to it myself!
The turbine wasn't turned on, but when we got close we could still see the wind pushing the arms a little bit. While the turbine is only about 1.5 miles from Carleton, it seemed like we were so far away! There was so much wind, I couldn't even hear what my dad was saying when he was standing right next to me. I actually felt like I was surrounded by "real" Minnesota, with prairie and winds and endless sky, as opposed to the civilized Minnesota I inhabit in Northfield.
