Hello!  My name's Katie Williams, and I'm a senior from Kent, Ohio (about 40 minutes south of Cleveland).  I'm a French major at Carleton, and am currently working on my big senior project, about French food culture and globalization.  On campus I'm also involved in Ebony (our big dance group), sometimes attend club field hockey practices, play flute in the band, and work as a French TA.  This summer, instead of going home I stayed in Minnesota, worked in the Admissions Office, and got to experience Northfield without homework.  When I'm not doing school things, I like to hang out with my friends, watch TV online (favorite shows = The Office, Gossip Girl), and make crafty things.  I'm learning how to cook and have almost perfected a curried sweet potato soup.  I love to travel, take pictures, and edit video, and I'm going to Mali winter term on an off-campus program.  One of my favorite things about Northfield is the smell of Malt O' Meal in the air on a warm day.
