Nope - I haven't joined Farm Club. You're looking at my Thursday AM biology lab, which my class spent examining Brassica oleracea and finishing our lab reports for the term. It's hard to believe this was our last "real" biology lab! Fall 2013 is almost over! Aaah!
On the first day of Biology 125, I was really nervous about taking a class with 60 people (for reference, my high school biology class had 3 students). However, the professors (Jennifer Wolff, Jalean Petricka, and Sarah Deel) are wonderful. They know every student in the class by name, and are always there to explain concepts. The class therefore feels very personal; I know I can ask for help when I need it and the teachers or TAs won't hesitate to assist. The same can be said for all classes at Carleton. Additionally, Carleton has a host of general academic assistance options - so far this year, I've been to the Math Skills Center, the Writing Center, and academic skills coaching.
Speaking of classes, I'm registering for winter term next Monday! I'll most likely be taking Multivariable Calculus, Elementary Greek, and Introduction to Rhetoric, and hope to blog about all three of these courses.
