Staying at Carleton during Winter Break does have its positives, as some other bloggers have already noted. I most enjoy the free reading material. Every time I stop by the Post Office, there is a box sitting out front spilling over with free Times, The New Yorker, The Economist, and even Cosmo. I get to read the NY Times at work where I usually find different sections scattered about the work space and sneak a peak at the online page (Shh!). And now that the the hectic term is over, I can even read my local newspaper's email bulletins and the pop-ups from CNN articles I invariably get from friends, classmates, and professors.

It's application season and I'm starting to feel the heat, metaphorically that is, because I am in Northfield where we've just gotten a good four inches of snow.
