I worked with Russ in the MLC for as long as one could. He is a wonderful part of Carleton that I will always remember. I'm very grateful as a math teacher for what I've learned from him. My students are too.
I don't think I've ever been as dumbfounded as I was the moment I learned that Russ, the unassuming, soft-spoken math tutor I knew from the MSC, and Russ, the wild, yelping, pink-leotard-clad, don't-stop-'til-you-drop aerobics instructor that I'd heard about, were in fact the same person. Unbelievable.
35 years is a long time to be one of the best calculus tutors in the business. Cheers, Russ!
Russ Petricka IS the Math Skills Center! (I'm quoting myself from back then...) He's a dynamo, and still there! Awesome.
P. S. We used to buy groceries in Nfld at Petricka's, but it seems that store no longer exists.
