The barbecue isn't as good here, sweet tea is just starting to make appearances in restaurants, and the winter is intimidatingly cold. I was able to talk with seven Carleton students from below the Mason-Dixon line about their experiences at Carleton and what made coming up to Northfield, Minnesota for college worth it for them.
