Rosa discovers a new corner of campus, and more!

Have I ever mentioned I am a couch potato? If I haven’t, now you know it. Yet new environment forces our potato to go out a lot on the weekend, and so the adventure goes! Friday night is always a good start of stories, so imagine me going to parties, dancing, singing… that is not going to happen (at least in years). But I did do something exciting—I went to a volleyball match for the first time in forever! On my way there, I “surprisingly” discovered the corner of campus I’ve never visited before and saw the spectacular water soccer field that is so rare to see that I took a picture of it! Then Friday night ended in mafia fights, where I was lucky to be the witch and huntsman all the time.

Saturday was filled with club activities and an astonishing discovery was that Burton brunch rulllllles! Yet it would not be enough reason for me to go there in winter, after all LDC is my nearest neighbor. So all I wish is that winter LDC brunch to be anti-menudo. The concept of Menudo can be found in Spanish Studies, Psychology and Literature. It is so profound that I am going to use it in my blogs for the rest of the term, I will reveal its meaning in week 5. Check the answer to see if you have good comprehension by analyzing the context! So I got up late on Sunday and had Menudo with my mentor group in El Triunfo in town. Since I am a planner who always have perfect expectations, I looked it up online and got a satisfied answer that El Triunfo is the only exception to the bad food in Northfield. (The source of this info isn’t very reliable and I am sure I had something good in town at some moment). The meeting was enjoyable, I also had rice pudding and bubble gum popsicle. What a wonderful day! 🙂 So the tip for going to El Triunfo* is to order #18 and rice pudding, they make a memorable taste.

Town adventure is fun, at least for me. Northfield is a small town, yet with friends, all the minute things are worth remembering.

*you can see what Ally had to say about El Triunfo earlier this week!

Rosa is an international freshman who wants to major in science, but she also enjoys learning social science and art. She loves ultimate frisbee, watercolor painting and dogs. She hasn’t visited most places on campus yet, but she has already fallen in love with Goodsell Observatory, and she secretly wants to sneak into one of the astronomy lab classes.
