Anna Swanson ’12
Hi, my name is Anna Swanson. I’m a freshman from Olympia, Washington, where the weather is not nearly as exciting as it is here in Minnesota.
I will probably be a CAMS major, with a Certificate of Advanced Study in Japanese, which is what any other college calls a “minor,” but we’re quirky like that. My extracurricular activities include, but are not limited to, answering questions in Quizbowl, putting on shows with the Experimental Theatre Board and Student Musical Theatre, singing a cappella at Dacie Moses with the Knightingales, taking voice lessons, playing IM frisbee, softball, and broomball, skiing with the Nordic Club, and discussing with Happy Bodies. In my spare time, I enjoy being overcommitted.
Some things that make me happy are Mark Helprin novels, the preponderance of free food at Carleton, Hayao Miyazaki movies, going to lectures in Boliou on things I know nothing about, taking Ballet I over and over again, skim milk, and seeing the goslings on my way to Goodhue.
