Accepted Student Days
Congratulations on your acceptance to Carleton College!
We are pleased you’ll be joining us for Accepted Student Days 2012, planned for the weekends of April 12-14 and April 19-21. These events are designed to give you the opportunity to experience life as a Carl (if only for a few days), and see what the great small town of Northfield has to offer.
Most of your time on campus will be filled with class visits, campus tours and information sessions that you will select once you’ve arrived at Carleton. However, you must pre-register for the following activities: the ASD Welcome Dinner, overnight stays with student hosts, and the airport shuttle service.
Here is a tentative schedule of events (PDF). Please keep in mind that both weekends are programmatically identical and that it is only necessary to attend one.
Please have the information below available, in detail, before you proceed with your registration.
Getting Here
Airport shuttles traveling to Carleton and returning to the airport are scheduled for Accepted Student Days.
If you are flying into the Humphrey Terminal (Terminal #2) , please take the Light Rail Transit (LRT) to the Lindbergh Terminal (Terminal #1). There is no cost to take the LRT between terminals. Shuttle service to and from Carleton costs $10 per rider, each way. Please allow one hour of travel time between Carleton and the airport.

Welcome Dinner
The Accepted Student Days Welcome Dinner is scheduled for Thursday, April 12 and 19. The Welcome Dinner is a great chance to chat with future classmates, meet professors and enjoy some distinctly-Carleton entertainment.
Dinner starts at 6:00 p.m., with seating beginning at 5:30 p.m. Seating is assigned and casual attire is appropriate.
Because dinner is assigned seating, please determine how many members of your party will be attending the dinner. Should your plans change for the dinner after registration, it is important to inform the Admissions Office to ensure enough seating for all guests.
Overnight Stays
Perhaps the most vital part of Accepted Student Days is the overnight stay with a current Carl. Your assigned host will be able to show you the ropes and you’ll get a glimpse at the life of a Carl. Accepted students may choose to stay overnight on campus with a student host on Thursday and/or Friday nights. Most students elect to stay for two nights – encouraged because you’ll get a more comprehensive experience. Host matching will take place following the Welcome Dinner on Thursday and on Friday at 4:00 p.m.
Please determine how many nights you would like to spend with your student host.
Guests
Parents and family are welcome at Accepted Student Days. There are many activities planned for family members such as campus tours, a parent panel, a financial aid session and open houses.
Please be sure to include all guests in the count for the Thursday night Welcome Dinner and airport shuttle service.
