Festival

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival is the nation’s oldest and largest rotating repertory theater. View performances in three different theaters, including The Winter’s Tale, King John, The Merry Wives of Windsor, and The Two Gentlemen of Verona. Other options for the weekend are Cyrano de Bergerac by Rostand and The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde. Location

Ashland is a beautiful resort town located in the foothills of the Cascades and the Siskiyou Mountains in southern Oregon. The town has many boutiques and a lovely park. The area offers day hiking, salmon fishing, whitewater rafting, and wineries.

Accommodations

Faculty

Frank Morral, the William R. Kenan, Jr. Professor of English, joined the Carleton English department in 1964 and is retiring in 2006. Morral has regularly taught courses about Shakespeare’s works, and directed a production of The Winter’s Tale for the Carleton Players. He is a veteran leader of alumni theater trips.
