Fast Forward to Fifty-Five
Plan now for the class of 1953's 55th reunion

It seems as though our 50th Reunion was only yesterday. If so, our 55th Reunion (June 19-22, 2008) is closer than tomorrow. At a meeting in Northfield, Minnesota recently, our planning committee chose as our motto: Fast Forward to Fifty-Five!
During our visit to campus, the planning committee stayed in Nourse Hall, home for some of you a half century ago, unexplored territory for others. Nourse is comfortably located central to most of our activities. The class of 1953 will occupy the first three floors. If you would be more comfortable on the ground floor, you can request such a room. Otherwise, there is an elevator. Accomodations also are available off campus.
We decided not to plan a lot of extra activities, figuring the main reason for going to Northfield was to see each other--and also see our Field of Dreams. For those of you who did attend the 50th Reunion, the schedule will be about the same. For those of you who missed that Reunion, we hope you will consider joining us this June. Here is a synopsis of what to expect:
Thursday, June 19: Golf outing at 1:00. Registration begins and dorms open at 3:00 PM. Dinner is at 6:30 PM. Fun afterwards
Friday, June 20: After breakfast, attend a presentation by President Rob Oden. Heywood Society Luncheon after that. Afternoon will feature class programs. During our stay, we were offered a tour of the Arb; you will be amazed by how much focus the College now gives to this Environmental Prairie. Friday evening a reception, class dinner and fireworks.
Saturday, June 21: Our class opened Boliou Hall in the fall of 1949. We will participate in the Alumni Art Exhibit. The Class Parade and Alumni Convocation this morning will feature us wearing new vizors, but bring your red berets from last time anyway. We have set as our fundraising goal $100,000, but we're even more interested in participation goals: 55 per cent giving and 30 percent attending. The College will take our class pictures, and members of the choir can rehearse. Along with the class of 1958, we have been invited to a special reception at President Oden's house, followed by our class dinner. Remember the Big Band Dance in Sayles Hill from our last reunion? We can't wait to hear In My Solitude played one more time.
Sunday, June 22: Attend the Alumni Remembrance in the Chapel. Sadly, we all have lost friends since our 50th Reunion. Depart for home with more memories for your Memory Book.
