Our 50th Reunion – an opportunity

How will I locate my classmates? Will I know people? What will we do at reunion? What is available for spouses or partners?

Physically, our class will have Watson Hall all to ourselves: a modern, air-conditioned dorm with an elevator inside and tent outside. We register and hold a few of our own events there. It will be staffed with classmate greeters at the beginning of the weekend and student hosts for the duration. Its lobby, lounges, lawn, and tent are natural gathering places. There will be student-chauffeured vans and golf carts for those who need transportation, and golf, tennis, jogging, fitness, Arb hikes, and birding for those who do them. Even free ice cream cones and a popcorn wagon on the Bald Spot! Because the campus has changed in the last fifty years, tour guides will be available to introduce you to the Carleton of 2009.

Browse through this website and you will see the richness of our program: a variety of discussions in which you can participate or simply observe, receptions, exhibits, lectures, performances, College events, class activities, and, of course, meals. The 50th is a circus in the best sense, an atmosphere hard to imagine for those who have not been back and hard to describe for those who have.

However, the essence of this particular Reunion is its impact on each one of us. We have all grown, mellowed, and have unique experiences to share. This is an ideal time in an ideal setting to become reacquainted with one another or simply enjoy a weekend in which there is something for everyone. We hope you will join us.
