Why "Still Changing"?
Still Changing the World . . . .and Ourselves…
Why this theme?
When the Class of 1969 graduated from Carleton, we wanted to change the world. We did.
And after 40 years, we are still doing it.
Many of us are going green. Some are into energy sustainability. Some of us are focusing on social justice issues. Some of us are trying to build people. Reunion is a great time to share what each of us is doing to make the world a better place.
At the same time, our lives are changing. Some of us have retired. Some of us are thinking about it. Some have taken on new careers or hobbies or creative challenges. Some of us are adjusting to loss or to health challenges. Some of us are transitioning. And all of us are changing.
Since the best part of reunion is sharing with one another, the Class of ’69 Program Committee has set up a variety of formats to encourage interaction, with the idea of changing lives as a thematic catalyst.
All the events planned by and for the class of 1969 are designed with this goal in mind.
Some panelists have even compiled a reading list of books that have changed their thinking. (Click on Suggested Reading.)
