Let's Get It On
While it might be true that you can’t always get what you want, the born to be wild folks on your reunion committee are not too proud to beg you to get your ticket to ride back to the house of the rising sons and honky tonk women.
You see, we’re dazed and confused. Hard as we try, we just can’t get next to you, babe. Your sounds of silence are all we hear. We’ve been asking ourselves, where did our love go? We’re scared you’ve lost that lovin’ feeling. We’ve got a whole lotta love to give but you just keep us hanging on.
Can we promise you nights in white satin and good vibrations in the midnight hour? No, but we’ve heard it through the grapevine that there are classmates out there who would be glad all over and do just about anything for your love. You’ve really got a hold on them and besides, you know you’ve got no particular place to go.
Come on, people get ready, it’s the time of the season, a change is gonna come and all day and all of the night they’ll be dancing in the streets and all along the watertower. Don’t worry, baby, God only knows we’ll be happy together. And by the way, there’ll be no sympathy for the devils who don’t show - they just better change their evil ways!
So, come on baby, light our fire. Let’s hear you twist and shout: “Hold on, I’m a’coming!” We can’t help ourselves, we’ve been lovin’ you too long and don’t we all need somebody to love? Don’t you want somebody to love?
The time has come today to come together, right now – well, actually, June 17th – June 20th, 2010. Reach out, we’ll be there. We're homeward bound.
