Now that Reunion 2010 is history.....
What's next? Besides looking forward to 2015 and 2020? Here are a few ideas:
- You can order a reunion class photo.
- Do we want/need a class correspondent who could put together a newsletter, either electronically or paper, once a year between reunions, coordinated with the Alumni Office so that the class doesn't get a number of mailings at once? This generally involves a call for updates and some organizational/formatting work, and then the alumni office sends it out to the class.
- Mini-reunions: Basically these are 3-4 day weekends somewhere in the U.S., with arrangements made by classmates. The Alumni Office can help with publicity.
- Class Listserv: We could set up a class listserv that people could subscribe to. The downside is that it can get kind of "noisy" with email volume.
- Facebook page: We have one. Check it out (search for Carleton College Class of 1970). Also sometime this fall, the college's own Alumni Gateway redesign is supposed to be complete, with a CarlTown (Carleton's equivalent of Facebook) makeover complete also. There are ways to have group discussions in that format. This could work for people who are leery about Facebook's privacy controls.
