Thursday, August 22, 2013—Gather at 7:15 p.m., Tour Starts at 7:30 p.m.
Please join Rae Schupack Nathan Professor of Art and Director of the Perlman Center for Teaching and Learning Fred Hagstrom for a tour of the exhibit It’s New / It’s Now: Recent Gifts of Contemporary Prints and Drawings at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. The exhibit features “iconic, eye-catching works by bold-faced names in the contemporary art world.” Learn about the contemporary art created by the likes of David Hockney, Louise Bourgeois, Chuck Close, and Roy Lichtenstein, and hear first-hand about the creation process from Professor Hagstrom, whose very own “Pirate Jenny” is included in the exhibit.
We’ll gather outside of the Target Galleries at the Minneapolis Institute of Art at 7:15 p.m., and the tour will commence at 7:30 p.m. Feel free to tour other exhibits before or after the tour, as the MIA is open until 9 p.m. on Thursdays.
Cost: $12 for admission to It’s New / It’s Now. Your tickets will be available for pick-up at the event.
