Carleton Connects:  Professor Nathan Grawe
“Why So Many Economics PhDs?”

Wednesday, April 22, 2015, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

200 Division Street, Lenny Dee Conference Room

Research finds that graduates from liberal arts colleges who pursue PhDs in economics are more likely to complete the degree and do so in faster time than graduates of other institution types. In his talk, Professor Grawe will give an overview of the research and data concerning PhD production in Economics and other fields and then talk about what he and Professor Jenny Bourne think explains the results. Because Carleton alums are part of the "data" in this project we expect a lively discussion!

To register, contact Catie Gardner ’10 at cgardner@carleton.edu or 507-222-5690.  For more information about the Carleton Connects program and to view past presentations, visit go.carleton.edu/carletonconnects .

Enter 200 Division through the door to the right of the old Gear Resource store. Walk straight to the end of the hall and turn right, there will be a door to a stairwell right around the corner and an elevator a little further down the hall. Take either upstairs one floor.  Enter the External Relations suite through the main door on the left.  The conference room is the second door once you enter.
