Careers and Networking

Mission

To support the career development of all Carleton students and alumni by facilitating alumni-alumni interaction and alumni-student interaction; by serving as a resource for the Career Center; and by communicating all related activities to the Carleton community, both on and off campus.

Benefits of Involvement

A strong Carleton Alumni Career Network benefits both alums and students as well as the College. Alums can find others with similar backgrounds and experiences and in turn may be more willing to volunteer to help others via networking. Students gain the benefit of a more active network plus the likelihood of more alumni visitors to campus and more national events to attend with a careers focus.

Current Projects and Activities

  • Andy Wilson will be the new representative to the Alumni Council begining the fall of '07
  • The group continues to work with the College to recommend a staff member dedicated to alumni career services
  • The careers group feels strongly that technology and the web can play a major role in strengthening the Carleton Career Network. To that end the group seeks to: enhance the information available on the Alumni Directory.
  • Although technology can provide a lot toward making a more accessible Career Network, face-to-face interaction and networking is still important. The group will continue to try and grow regional networks by offering occasional networking focused events.

Paladin Program

  • A new networking resourse is now available to Carleton alums. An initial group of fifteen Carleton alumni-representing a variety of ages, ethnic backgrounds, geographic locations, and careers-already have committed to share career-related information and have agreed to be contacted with questions or requests for networking help within their fields. Click here to get more information an to find the profiles. You will be asked for your Carleton login information.

Don't know your login information? A new automated system is now in place, allowing alumni with email addresses on record with the College to easily obtain their login information. To report an address or employment change, you can also send your information to: addresses@carleton.edu
