Men’s Basketball:
The Men’s basketball made it to the quarterfinals in the MIAC playoffs before losing to Augsburg 64-65 in a very tight match. Earlier in the season, Senior Zach Johnson broke the all-time scoring record.
Women’s Basketball:
The women’s basketball team finished its season on the road against Bethel on February 21. On February 14 the women celebrated their Pink Zone event, an effort by Women’s Basketball Coaches Association to raise awareness for breast cancer research.
Women’s Track and Field:
Women’s Track and Field has had a strong start with 2 3rd place finishes and 1 2nd place finish so far in the indoor season. Freshman Clare Franco is making her presence known at Carleton, having already broken the school records in the 400-meter and 600-meter.
Men’s Track and Field:
On the Men’s side of Track and Field, the Knights have started the season with 2 3rd place finishes so far. Junior Charlie Gamble placed 16th overall in the 5000-meter run at the Iowa State classic—one of the largest NCAA Div. I indoor meets.
Men’s Swimming and Diving:
Men’s Swimming and Diving finished 4th at the MIAC Championships. Some members of the team are going on to compete at the National Championships being held at the University of Minnesota, March 18-21. Senior diver John Knapp is the first Men’s Diver to qualify for Nationals in Andy Clark’s 16 years as coach.
Women’s Swimming and Diving:
The Women’s Swimming and Diving continues the winning streak begun by many of the fall sports with an impressive win at MIAC Championships. It is the third time the women have won the championships this decade! Some members of the team are moving on to compete in the National Championships being held at the University Of Minnesota March 18-21.
Men’s Tennis:
The Men’s tennis team is off to a great start with a 6-2 record so far. With strong upperclassmen leadership, the rookies on the team are thriving in the early part of the season.
Women’s Tennis:
The Women’s tennis team is 5-1 so far in the season, and remains undefeated in the MIAC. They are currently tied for 1st place in the MIAC.
