General Reunion Information and Reminders

What to Bring

  • Camera, scrapbooks, Carleton memorabilia, music and anything else that will make the weekend special. We recommend you put your name on everything you bring in case it's accidentally left behind.
  • If you're staying on campus, you may wish to bring a small reading lamp, hangers, alarm clock, small fan, and extra blanket or pillow if needed, and something in which to carry your toiletries.
  • June weather is unpredictable. We strongly recommend bringing a light jacket, umbrella, sunscreen and mosquito repellent. Check www.weather.com for the latest forecast.
  • Carleton's athletic facilities and fields are open throughout reunion weekend. Bring your swimsuit/racket/softball glove/Frisbee, etc., and check your final schedule on arrival for open times. Please note that glass is prohibited on Carleton's athletic fields; we appreciate your cooperation in keeping our fields safe for students.
  • If your children are enrolled in Camp Carleton you may wish to bring a cell phone so you can be reached if necessary.

Emergency contact numbers

In the event of an emergency, if someone needs to reach you during Reunion, call 507-222-4205 during registration hours (see schedule). After registration closes, or if the main number is busy, call Carleton Security at 507-222-4444. They will pick up on their radio.

Alumni Art Exhibit

Alumni artists are invited to bring a sample of their work to Reunion for the Alumni Art Exhibit in the Carleton Art Gallery. Prior to reunion, please send information about the art medium, size, and any special display requirements to the Alumni Affairs Office (800-729-2586 or bnystrom@carleton.edu). Exhibitors are asked to bring their work to the Art Gallery on Friday before 5 p.m. Art students will be on hand to help display the works, monitor the exhibit during the weekend, and help artists take down their displays on Sunday morning.

KRLX open during reunion

Did you have a radio show when you were a student? The KRLX radio station will be open for any alum who would like to participate. No experience is necessary. Check the appropriate box on the registration form if you'd like to sign up.

Bringing highschoolers?

The Carleton Admissions Office will be open on Friday, June 20 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you are bringing a high school student with you, call 800-995-CARL in advance to schedule an interview and tour on Friday. The office will be closed on Saturday, June 21, but there will be a general information session that afternoon. Call the office to add students to the mailing list to receive admissions publications, or visit the comprehensive web site for prospective students: www.carleton.edu/admissions.

Cancellation policy

Refunds will be issued if we receive notice of cancellation or changes before 5 p.m. central time on Monday, June 9. Refunds cannot be made after that time. We cannot make partial refunds of the weekend package price.

How much does it cost to attend Reunion?

Reunion at Carleton is a bargain compared to most college and high-school reunions.

  • The weekend package rate, which includes housing, registration fee and all meals from Thurs. dinner to Sunday breakfast, is $170 per adult, $150 for the classes of '98 and '03, and teens, and $85 for children 5-12.
  • Alumni from the classes of 1933 to 1958 receive complimentary on-campus room and board, and are asked only to pay a registration fee of $30 per adult to help defray costs.
  • A la carte weekend registration includes a registration fee of $45 per adult or $25 for teens, which helps defray costs. Children 12 and under do not pay a registration fee. Meal costs vary from $10-20 per meal, with lower costs for children 12 and under and for the 5th and 10th reunion classes. (Vegetarian meals are always available. Kosher meals are available upon request.) Housing is $40 per bed for the entire weekend, regardless of number of nights stayed, and includes a linen packet with sheets, towels and pillow. There is no housing charge for kids sleeping on the floor in their parents' room with their own sleeping bag; no linen packet is provided.
  • Camp Carleton, the children's program for kids ages 5-12, is $72 per child for the weekend if you've registered for the weekend package, and $95 if not. (the children's program includes some meals). Half- or one-day Camp Carleton sessions range from $25 to $40.
  • Airport Shuttle: the shuttle costs $40 round trip per adult and must be scheduled before June 2.
  • Carleton Open Golf Outing: $75 per golfer (includes cart and dinner).
