Information for Families

Teen Program

Kids ages 12–17 who are registered for Reunion are welcome to participate in any of the scheduled reunion activities. In addition, there will be a program of events specifically planned for teens on Friday and Saturday. Activities usually include time at the computer center to cruise the Internet or play games, a Frisbee golf/Ultimate Frisbee session, an arts and crafts event, pizza and movie evenings, and events around Northfield.

A Teen Center located in upper Sayles-Hill will serve as a central location to find other teens, meet with current Carleton students—who will be available all weekend to give directions, and suggest and share in activities—or just hang out. Upper Sayles features a video arcade, cable TV, pool table, and ping-pong. For more information, contact the alumni affairs office at 800-729-2586.

Reunion Carnival

In addition to the popular Camp Carleton option, children will delight in the reunion bouncy tent, inflatable slide, obstacle course and miniature golf course, which will be available Friday and Saturday afternoons near the Bald Spot.

Children’s Program—“Camp Carleton”

The children’s program provides interesting and fun age-appropriate activities for children ages 5 to 11 (5-year-olds must have completed kindergarten). Kids’ meals are included in the cost of the program. Please use the special section on the registration form to register your child in advance.

Barb Howe is the director of Camp Carleton, and has coordinated Carleton's reunion children's programming since 1982. She has taught kindergarten, first grade, and Title One (supplemental reading and math). Barb has also served as the children's art coordinator at the Northfield Arts Guild, and is presently the director and three-day lead teacher at Open Door Nursery School in Northfield.

Activities usually include a mix of art, music, and computer activities and games, movies, a visit to a local farm and area nature center. For a complete schedule, contact the alumni affairs office. Parents must sign an emergency medical authorization slip at registration for each child attending.

For safety reasons, children may only join or leave the program at pre-set times. We appreciate your cooperation. The children's program director will contact parents in the event of behavioral or medical problems.
