Save on Airfare

Carleton has selected Northwest Airlines as the official carrier for Reunion. If you travel to Minneapolis/St. Paul between dates in June (from a week before to a week after reunion), you are eligible to receive an additional 5 percent off the lowest applicable fare. (10 percent discount if booked 60 or more days in advance.)

For the lowest fares available from your departure city on Northwest (as well as special discounts on rental cars) call Northwest at 800-225-2525 or visit www.nwa.com. Identify yourself as attending the Carleton College Reunion and/or reference our Worldfile code NYVMN when booking your reservation.

Airport shuttle service

Chartered motorcoach shuttle service is available for $40 round trip, between the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport (main Lindbergh Terminal) and Carleton. Please note that some airlines (Midwest, AirTran, Sun Country) now arrive at the smaller Humphrey Terminal; check your ticket carefully or check with your airline. If you know you are flying into the Humphrey Terminal, please be sure to let us know before June 2 so we can make special arrangements.

Schedule: shuttles are scheduled on Thursday at 2:15 p.m., 5 p.m., and 8:30 p.m.; Friday, 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m., and 5 p.m.; and Sunday, 8 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 1 p.m. If no one has registered in advance for a particular shuttle time, a shuttle will not be provided. Please note that children’s car seats are not available. Remember to allow one hour for travel time between Carleton and the airport.

On arrival at the airport, proceed to the lower baggage claim level and check in at the Carleton information booth near baggage claim #6 (look for signs and the maize and blue balloons). The airport booth will be set up approximately 30-60 minutes before the first shuttle is scheduled to depart. Carleton student greeters will assist you. If you haven't pre-registered for a shuttle they can let you know if there's space available.

If you have already registered for Reunion, but need to sign up for the airport shuttle, please return this form to the Alumni Affairs Office.

Coming by train or bus?

CareTenders of Northfield provides scheduled transportation from and to the St. Paul and Red Wing AmTrak stations and the Minneapolis/St. Paul bus stations, in addition to the airport. Call 888-492-RIDE to make a reservation in advance or visit www.careextenders.com for more information. One-way cost is $40–$60.

Missed your shuttle?

If you miss your shuttle, the airport shuttle coordinators will assign you to the next one if space is available. If you miss the last shuttle of the day, your options include taking a taxi (approximately $75 one way), contacting CareTenders ($60 same day reservation with one hour's notice) or renting a car. As you make your plans, please allow for possible delays. Some years delays have been caused by thunderstorms in Minneapolis or Chicago. We cannot issue refunds for unused shuttle reservations.

Parking

Parking on campus is limited. Cars may be parked overnight on Northfield streets. On-campus shuttle service will be provided all weekend between Watson Hall and Sayles-Hill, and for special events for the 50th and senior reunion classes.

When you arrive

Registration hours: 3-10 p.m. Thursday; 8 am to 10 pm Friday; 8 am to 5 pm Saturday.

Class of 1958: Please go to Watson Hall (corner of First and Maple streets, near Margaret Evans Hall) to pick up your registration materials and receive your residence hall room assignment, if applicable.

All Other Classes: Please go to Sayles-Hill to pick up your registration materials and room assignment, if applicable. If you arrive after 10 pm Thursday or Friday and have reserved housing in advance, there will be a reunion staff member in Sayles-Hill overnight who can provide your room key. (We strongly encourage you to arrive before 10 pm if at all possible, just in case there are any problems with your key or room.) Message boards and reunion attendance lists will be available in Sayles-Hill and in each assigned class lounge.
