Archives database

A new database for searching the Carleton Archives is now online and ready for use by the entire Carleton Community.  Here you can search all known records of archival photographs, documents and artifacts at Carleton, as well as view available scans of these items and request appointments to see original copies.

We are very excited to open up these records to the public and believe it will be a valuable resource for all kinds of researchers.  Feel free to check out this new database and send us feedback on our work.

I'm a member of the class of '52. I'm trying to find information about my father who told me he was in the last graduating class of the Carleton Academy in 1905-6? When I was at my 50th reunion in 2002, I checked in the Archives department and a very helpful person located a publication that had my father's picture along with his classmates. His name was Gates (Clarence) Ferguson. I was given a copy of that publication but am not able to locate it now. I plan on attending my 60th reunion next June and will make a point to visit the Archives again to see if there is any more information available. He told me that his brother, Raymond Ferguson, had played football for Carleton College but I could never locate anything about him. I'm not sure if he was older or younger than my father. I think this new emphasis on Archives is a great idea. I loved the article in the current Voice especially the tips by Nat Wilson about preserving your past. I am in the process of digitizing a lifetime of photos, slides etc. and his suggestions are very helpful. Thank you, Bob
