Men's Track and Field: Buckner Finishes in 16th place in the Decathlon, Cook-Gallardo in 15th in the 800 Meter Run
Still recovering from an injury that knocked him out of the MIAC Championships two weeks ago Jerry Cook-Gallardo (So./Moscow, Idaho/Moscow) finished his impressive sophomore campaign by finishing in 15th in the 800-meter run at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Also competing today was sophomore Jack Buckner (Seattle, Wash./Northwest) as he finished out day 2 of the Decathlon in 16th place with a final overall score of 6120.

WAVERLY, Iowa – Establishing her dominance early on in day two of the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships, Amelia Campbell (Sr./Sturgeon Bay, Wis.) capped her Carleton career and won the heptathlon with a point total of 5108.

The Carleton College men’s basketball team will welcome a trio of newcomers next season, as Henry Bensen, Kent Hanson and Jack Sowada have been admitted to the College and have announced their intention to enroll and participate in men’s basketball this fall.

Men's Track and Field: Hornor Takes 13th in 10K, Buckner Sits 20th in Decathlon on First Day at NCAA Championships
Senior Hart Hornor returned for his second career NCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field Championships appearance on Thursday and finished 13th in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 32:24.54. Competing earlier in the day in the decathlon was Jack Buckner, who sits in 20th place with a score of 3,124 points.

Competing on day one of the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Amelia Campbell grabbed hold of second place in the current standings of the heptathlon, courtesy of consistent top performances.

Prior to the start of competition at nationals, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its selections for the Regional Athletes-of-the-Year and Coaches-of-the-Year for the 2016 outdoor season. The Carleton College track and field programs took home four of the eight Central Region awards.
