Carleton College swimmer Erik Klontz was recognized for excellence in the classroom and in competition as he was a first-team selection to the 2013 Academic All-America® Division III At-Large Team, as voted by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The post-season awards keep accumulating for first-year outfielder Hayden Tsutsui. On Wednesday, it was announced that he picked up another All-Midwest Region award, this time receiving recognition from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).

Carleton College’s regionally-ranked duo of senior Bridget Doyle and junior Anne Lombardi saw their season end following a 6-1, 6-2 defeat in the opening round of the doubles bracket at the NCAA Championships.

Two days after Hayden Tsutsui was named to the 2013 D3baseball.com All-Midwest Region First Team and picked up distinction as the region’s Rookie-of-the-Year, the outfielder received an even bigger honor in being selected as the 2013 D3baseball.com national Rookie-of-the-Year.

The Carleton College women’s track and field team had a strong spring season and four Knights just missed earning a bid to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships. Ruth Steinke, Colette Celichowski, Amelia Campbell, and Kao Sutton all turned in All-Conference performances at this season’s MIAC Outdoor Championships, but they just missed qualifying for the national championships.

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recently announced the 2013 inductees for the Division III Track & Field Athlete Hall of Fame. Carleton alum Dale Kramer ’78 is one of this year’s inductees for his outstanding career as a Knight.
