The Carleton College football team staged a furious comeback Saturday and nearly upset No. 23/24-ranked Concordia College, falling just short in a 27-24 loss. The Knights' defense played great in the defeat, led by sophomore linebacker Merrick Ducharme and his career-high 14 tackles. For his performance, Ducharme was honored Monday with the MIAC Football Defensive Player-of-the-Week award.

The Carleton College swimming and diving teams opened the 2015-16 season with their annual Intrasquad/Alumni Meet. This non-scoring event featured 30 former Knights in attendance at Thorpe Pool.

The Carleton College women’s soccer team let a second-half lead slip away as visiting Concordia College scored twice in a three-minute span to earn a 2-1 victory over the Knights.

The Carleton College football team gave No. 23 Concordia College all it could handle in the Knights’ Homecoming contest, but the home team fell just short by a final tally of 27-24. Starting quarterback Zach Creighton led the efforts for Carleton and achieved a new career-high with 266 passing yards while adding a season-best 103 yards on the ground.

In defeating visiting Concordia College, 2-0, the Carleton College men’s soccer team lived out the mantra that “You miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take” as the Knights attempted a season-high 33 shots during the match.
