    Knights Run Away with More Academic Awards

    Both the Carleton College men’s and women’s track & field teams squads ranked among the top five in team GPA, making the Knights the lone NCAA Division III program to accomplish that feat. Along the way, both squads earned the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team Award, and seven Knights picked up All-Academic Individual Awards.

    Ruth Steinke Receives MIAC's 2016 NCAA Woman of the Year Nomination

    Throughout her stellar four-year career as a member of Carleton College's cross country and track and field teams, Ruth Steinke ’16 accumulated numerous Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) championships and All-American honors while also excelling in the classroom and in the community. This week, it was announced that Steinke would cap her Knights career with one more prestigious honor as she was named the MIAC's nominee for the 2016 NCAA Woman of the Year award.

    Volleyball: Knights Earn 14th AVCA Team Academic Award

    The Carleton College women’s volleyball team earned recognition for its classroom achievements during the 2015-16 academic year, earning a Team Academic Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). This is the 14th academic honor that the Knights have received from the AVCA over the last 16 seasons, most among MIAC squads over that span.

    Men's Tennis: Knights, Five Players Net ITA Academic Awards

    The Carleton College men’s tennis squad was tabbed an All-Academic Team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) following the 2015-16 season, marking the 13th time since 2002 that the Knights have been recognized for their excellence in the classroom. Five Carleton players also received individual recognition as ITA Scholar-Athletes, a figure that tied for tops in the MIAC.

    Women's Tennis: Quartet Tabbed as ITA Scholar-Athletes

    Four members of the Carleton College women’s tennis program were recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for their success in the classroom. Recent graduates Mikayla Becich ’16, Grace Davis ’16, and Julia Krumholz ’16 as well as rising junior Danielle Vasiliev ’18 were tabbed as ITA Scholar-Athletes.

    Baseball: Knights Earn ABCA’s Inaugural Team Academic Excellence Award

    The Carleton College baseball team earned the America Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) inaugural Team Academic Excellence Award. The Knights were one of only 36 NCAA Division III programs to take home this accolade and are one of two teams from the MIAC to receive the honor.
