Carleton College rookie pitcher Alec Lawler continued his breakout season on the mound with two near-perfect performances last week. Lawler didn't allow a run, going 1-0 and recording 8.0 scoreless innings, with six strikeouts against just three hits and three walks. For his performance, Lawler was honored Monday with his first MIAC Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week award.

In a surprisingly close match, the Carleton College men’s tennis team prevailed, 5-4, at Concordia College and captured their 21st victory of the season to equal the Knights’ team record. Sophomore Christian Purnell came up big for Carleton, claiming wins in both singles and doubles.

Juniors Grace Gilmore and Mara Daly paced Carleton to a sixth-place finish at the Bethel Royal Invite at Deer Run Golf Club, as the Knights used the event to give its players outside the normal starting lineup some experience.

First-year Jerry Cook-Gallardo and senior Colby Seyferth both won individual events as well as running a portion of the victorious 4x400-meter relay as the Carleton College men’s track and field team hosted the Carleton Relays at Laird Stadium.

The Carleton College women’s track and field team made the most of its lone home meet of the 2015 season as the Knights broke three school records (1500m, triple jump, and 4x400) while hosting the Carleton Relays.

Micaela LaRose was honored by the Carleton College softball team during a pregame Senior Day ceremony on Saturday, but she and her teammates had to be content with a doubleheader split against cross-town rival St. Olaf College. The Knights took the opener, 4-1, before dropping game two by an 8-1 margin.
