<description>&lt;p&gt;Carleton ace &lt;strong&gt;Ethan Guevin&lt;/strong&gt; carried his outstanding junior season into the summertime as he helped the Lehigh Valley Catz to one of the best seasons in their storied history. The Catz are members of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League (ACBL), a wood bat summer league comprised of some of the top players from colleges and universities across the country.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<title>Knights Earn Academic All-Conference</title>
<description>&lt;p&gt;The MIAC has announced its list of academic all-conference honorees for winter and spring sports, with 21 Carleton student-athletes earning distinction. Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior, or senior with a minimum GPA of 3.5. Additionally, student-athletes in basketball, baseball, softball and tennis must compete in half of their team’s contests, while those in swimming &amp;amp; diving and track &amp;amp; field must qualify for the conference finals.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<title>Baseball Field Named in Long-Time Coach Mel Taube's Honor</title>
<description>&lt;p&gt;Carleton College will honor &lt;strong&gt;Mel Taube&lt;/strong&gt;, who served the Knights’ athletic department from 1950-70 as a multi-sport coach and latter adding men’s athletics administration duties, by the naming of the Mel Taube Baseball Field. The dedication ceremony will be held during Carleton’s Alumni Reunion Weekend activities at 4:15 p.m. on Fri., June 20 at the baseball complex. Several members of the Carleton class of 1958 are on campus this weekend to celebrate their 50th reunion. This group has spearheaded a variety of planned improvements to Carleton’s baseball facilities, all in Coach Taube’s honor.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<title>Melson Named to All-Region Team</title>
<description>&lt;p&gt;Infielder &lt;strong&gt;Jay Melson&lt;/strong&gt; was named to the 2008 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-Midwest Region Baseball Third Team. He paced the Knights in virtually every offensive category and ranked second in the conference with seven home runs. Melson hit .410 during conference action and batted a whopping .477 over the final month of the season.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<description>&lt;p&gt;Carleton College junior pitcher &lt;strong&gt;Ethan Guevin&lt;/strong&gt; was selected to the &lt;em&gt;ESPN The Magazine&lt;/em&gt; Academic All-District 5 second team. He went 3-5 with a 3.21 ERA, while ranking fifth in the conference with 47 strikeouts over 47.2 innings pitched. Guevin’s earned run average was fourth among MIAC hurlers with as many innings.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Russ Fujisawa&lt;/strong&gt; homered twice and &lt;strong&gt;Jay Melson&lt;/strong&gt; added a three-run blast as the Knights finished the 2008 season with a 25-5 win over the University of Minnesota-Morris. Eight players had multi-hit games for the Knights, including senior &lt;strong&gt;Doug Sylvester&lt;/strong&gt;, who capped his collegiate career by reaching base four times. Game two of the doubleheader was rained out.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
