Knights Can't Stay With Johnnies in Season Finale

Carleton College kept things close for one half Saturday, but host Saint John's University pulled away in the second for a 41-14 victory at Clemens Stadium.
Game Day Preview: at Saint John's

Last year when the Knights and Johnnies met on the final Saturday of the regular season, they were playing for a MIAC championship. Saint John's will be doing so again, but it's been a vastly different year for Carleton (3-6, 1-6 MIAC). The Knights will look to snap a five-game losing streak and salvage a disappointing 2009 today, while the Johnnies (9-0, 7-0 MIAC) can clinch the out-right conference crown and complete an undefeated regular season with a win at home. Today's game also marks the final time five seniors will wear the maize and blue for Carleton. Defensive end Adam Hallbeck, running back Phil Blue, defensive end John Schlaefer, quarterback Spenser Williamson, and kicker Kyle Burkhardt will all be finishing their collegiate football careers this afternoon. Follow the game via live stats and catch the live audio broadcast on Knights Online and on Power 96 (KQCL 95.9 FM).

Knights Clipped by Cobbers 31-16

On an unnaturally warm November day, the Carleton College offense could never heat up when it needed to most as the Knights fell to visiting Concordia College-Moorhead 31-16 in the season finale at Laird Stadium. The game marked the final home contest for five Carleton seniors, including defensive end Adam Hallbeck, who had nine tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery..

Knights Stumble Against Pipers

The Carleton College offense turned in quite a mixed bag on Saturday. Several players set career highs, but six turnovers nullified the strong individual performances as the Knights fell on the road to Hamline University 34-17. Sophomore Anthony Kemper pulled in two more touchdown passes, raising his season total to nine.
