Rotilie Named to All-Sportsmanship Team

Paul Rotilie was tabbed as Carleton’s representative on the MIAC’s All-Sportsmanship Team for 2007-08. One of three seniors on this year’s team, some of his best scores came during the MIAC Championships in October.

Knights Conclude Season at St. Olaf Invitational

The season-ending St. Olaf invitational was split into two separate events at the request of some of the visiting teams. On the first day, harsh winds and a questionable course set-up resulted in high scores for the entire field. The Knights were lead by Alec Roman and Jesse Saucedo, who finished in 10th and 13th respectively. Both golfers ranked in the top 10 during the second day's competition.

Roman Finishes One Off the Pace at SJU Invitational

Sophomore Alec Roman fired a 34 on the back nine to finish the day with an even-par round of 71, finishing one shot out of a first-place tie at the Saint John’s Invitational. He tied for fourth out of 90 players at the event, and the Knights matched their second-best round of the spring.

Knights Open Spring Season at Gustavus Invitational

The Carleton College men’s golf team opened the spring portion of its competition season by teeing it up at the Bobby Krig Invitational. The Knight finished 14th at the three-round, two-day event. Sophomore Alec Roman led the way for Carleton as he tied for 29th overall with a 24-over par score of 236.

After terrific improvement during the fall season under new coach Jerry Ericksen’s watch, the Carleton men’s golf team looks to continue to rise in the MIAC.

Alec Roman, who became the first Carleton men’s golfer since 2003 to receive all-MIAC honors and only the fourth Knight ever, should continue to be the low scorer on the Carleton roster.

The three-day battle for the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) men’s and women’s golf championships begins Saturday, Oct. 6, at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids. This is the first time the men and women have contested their championships at the same venue at the same time and this is the second year of the three-day format.

The Carleton College and St. Olaf College men's golf teams faced off in a dual golf meet at a windy Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids, Minn. The "Rusty Putter" series has been held from time to time over the past decades. This year the rusty Scottish Putter will rest in the St. Olaf trophy case, following the Oles 310 to 335 victory.

Sophomore Alec Roman was named the MIAC Men's Golf Co-Athlete of the Week. He shot rounds of 71-77 for a four-over par 148 to win the St. Olaf/Carleton Invite played at Northfield Country Club and Willingers Golf Club this past weekend.
