Junior shortstop Michael Johnson received All-MIAC honors as she led the Knights in almost every offensive category. Senior pitcher Mari Jo Long was named All-MIAC Honorable Mention for her performance this spring.

In a battle of crosstown foes, the Knights were swept 4-1 and 7-1 by St. Olaf College, concluding Carleton’s season. Senior Mari Jo Long concluded her career with a pair of complete-game efforts. Karen Robinson had four hits on the day and scored both Carleton runs.

It was Senior Day and Hannah Maras grabbed the spotlight as she delivered a two-run, two-out single in the bottom of the seventh to give the Knights a 3-2 victory in the opener. Junior Michael Johnson smacked her fourth home run over the last nine days in game two, but Augsburg earned a split with a 12-2 triumph.

The Knights played a second road doubleheader in as many days and suffered the same result both times, a pair of losses. This time Carleton absorbed setbacks by scores of 6-2 and 8-0 to the College of Saint Benedict. Sophomore Alex Schefter was a perfect 3-for-3 in the opener.

The Knights knew they faced an uphill battle when the schedule called for them to travel to the University of St. Thomas, which is ranked No. 6 in the nation. The Tommies limited Carleton to one hit in each game as they recorded 13-1 and 5-0 victories.

Long Ball Not Enough Against Bethel

The Knights played longball in both ends of their double-dip against Bethel University but came up short twice, falling 4-1 and 16-9. Michael Johnson homered for Carleton's lone run in the opener, and senior Hannah Maras capped a nine-run inning in game two with a grand slam.

Junior shortstop Michael Johnson belted grand slams in consecutive innings to power the Knights a 10-2 win over Concordia in game one. It was Carleton’s second conference victory in as many days. The Cobbers bounced back to split the doubleheader with an 11-0 triumph.

In a matchup of two squads each seeking its first conference victory of the season, Carleton College and Macalester College split a doubleheader on Monday. The Knights won the first game 3-2, while the Scots secured the nightcap, 3-0.

On a windy afternoon at Bell Field, the Carleton softball team was swept away by the Hamline Pipers, dropping a pair of closely contested games. The Knights were unable to deliver the clutch hit in falling 2-0 in the opener. They led the nightcap after four frames, but Hamline rebounded with a pair of big innings resulting in a 9-2 score.
