Ramey, Davis, and Parsons Receive All-Conference Recognition

Jenny Ramey picked up her third All-Conference honor in as many years, as she was named to the 2013 All-MIAC team. Two other Knights were also recognized by the conference as Keelin Davis and Kelsey Parsons were named All-MIAC Honorable Mention. All three players were an integral part of the Knights' climb in the standings, which included Carleton's highest win total in the last nine seasons and the team's first victory during the MIAC Playoffs.

First-year Keelin Davis was selected to the 2013 MIAC Softball Playoffs All-Tournament Second Team after leading Carleton to a 1-1 record in the competition.

Season Ends as Knights Go 1-1 in Pool Play at MIAC Playoffs

The Carleton College softball team took part in the MIAC Playoffs for the first time on Friday. The Knights were the No. 9 seed in field and opened pool play with an 11-2 triumph over fourth-seeded Saint Mary’s University. Carleton could not hold a late lead against No. 5 seed Gustavus Adolphus College and was unable to advance out of the pool play stage.

Regular-Season Finale Rained Out, Knights Turn Attention to MIAC Playoffs

The Carleton College softball team’s final regular-season doubleheader, scheduled for Wednesday, May 1 at Saint Mary’s University, has been postponed due to cold and rain. The games will not be made up as both squads prepare to open pool play at the MIAC Playoffs on Friday.

Bagley, Davis Help Knights to Another Split

Kaitlin Bagley had five hits on the day, and Keelin Davis tossed another gem as the Carleton College softball team split its third straight doubleheader. Host Hamline University prevailed in game one, 5-3, but Davis’ recorded her first collegiate shutout, 2-0, in the nightcap.

Knights Earn Split at Bethel

Micaela LaRose delivered a clutch three-run double and picked up the victory in relief to help the Carleton College softball team earn a split at Bethel University. The Knights out-hit the Royals in both games but dropped game one, 3-1, before bouncing back with a 6-5 triumph in the game two.

Knights Settle for Senior Day Spilt with St. Olaf

For Senior Day and the final regular-season home games of the campaign, the Carleton College softball team hosted rival St. Olaf College for what was a closely contested doubleheader. The Knights earned a split with a 4-3 win in the opener behind Keelin Davis’ eight strikeout effort before dropping the nightcap, 8-2.

Playing for just the second time in two weeks due to wet weather, the Carleton College softball team dropped both ends of its doubleheader against Gustavus Adolphus College, falling 8-1 and 7-5.

Knights Put Scare Into No. 16 St. Thomas Before Being Swept

The Carleton College softball team gave No. 16 University of St. Thomas all it could handle in the opener, with the Tommies eventually rallying for a 3-2 walkoff victory. The momentum carried over to game two as St. Thomas grabbed the early lead and posted a 9-0 (5 inn.) win to complete the sweep and extend its home-field winning streak to 37 games.

Davis K’s 15, but Blazer Bats Just Too Hot for Knights

Keelin Davis fanned 15 batters, the highest strikeout total by a Knight in eight seasons, but the Carleton College softball team dropped a 5-4, eight-inning affair in game one its doubleheader versus the College of Saint Benedict. The nightcap also went to the Blazers, this time by a 10-1 score.

Knights Stay Red Hot, Sweep Scots

For the second straight day, Keelin Davis and Micaela LaRose pitched and hit the Carleton College softball team to a sweep. This time the duo guided the Knights to a pair of victories over Macalester College, prevailing by scores of 9-1 (6 inn.) and 8-4.

Keelin Davis Picks Up MIAC Weekly Award

Though the continued winter weather wiped out many of the games on the MIAC softball schedule last week, Carleton College was able to get on the field Sunday, and the result was a positive one for the Knights. Carleton swept MIAC foe St. Catherine in a home doubleheader, 5-2 and 9-4. Versatile first-year player Keelin Davis was instrumental in both wins. She went the distance and didn't allow an earned run in the 5-2 game-one victory, and added some key hits in game two. For her performance, Davis was named the MIAC Softball Pitcher-of-the-Week.
