<title>Looking Back at the Record-Setting 2009 Campaign</title>
<description>&lt;p&gt;While christening the newly refurbished and renamed Mel Taube Field with a 9-3 home record, the Carleton Knights completed one of the finest seasons in school history. With 21 wins, the Knights posted the second-highest victory total in school history, and their third-place finish in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) put Carleton in the conference tournament for the first time. The spectacular season was highlighted by a number of notable individual and team performances.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<title>Carleton Mourns Passing of Jinny Thurnblad '48</title>
<description>&lt;p style=&quot;text-align: justify;&quot;&gt;Carleton athletic department officials were notified late Friday evening of the passing of &lt;span style=&quot;font-weight: bold;&quot;&gt;Jinny (White) Thurnblad '48&lt;/span&gt;, the wife of long-time Carleton men's basketball coach &lt;span style=&quot;font-weight: bold;&quot;&gt;Jack Thurnblad '49&lt;/span&gt;. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, at the Church of St. Dominic in Northfield. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 30, from 4-8 p.m. at the Benson and Langehough Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Wednesday at the church one hour prior to the funeral. Memorials are preferred to the Jinny Thurnblad Memorial Fund which will be used for the dance program at Carleton College.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<title>Carleton Posts Its Best Finish (35th) in Directors' Cup Standings</title>
<description>&lt;p&gt;Carleton College finished 35th in the final standings of the 2008-09 Learfield Sports Directors' Cup, the prestigious award presented annually by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) to the best overall collegiate athletics programs in the country. This was Carleton’s best finish in the standings since the program started in 1995-96.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<title>Knights Earn Academic All-Conference</title>
<description>&lt;p&gt;The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its list of academic all-conference honorees for winter and spring sports, with 27 Carleton student-athletes earning distinction. Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior, or senior with a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Carleton saw seven student-athletes earn academic all-conference in multiple sports. Leading the pack was senior &lt;span style=&quot;font-weight: bold;&quot;&gt;Nick Cesarek&lt;/span&gt;, who received distinction in three seasons: football, indoor track and field, and outdoor track and field.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
