<title>Lamb, Hansen, Taube, and Beson Award Winners Announced for 2012-13</title>
<description>&lt;p&gt;In conjunction with Carleton’s annual Honors Convocation, the Physical Education, Athletics, and Recreation (P.E.A.R.) Department announced its annual senior awards. &lt;strong&gt;Sophie Pilhofer&lt;/strong&gt; and &lt;strong&gt;Jessa Youso&lt;/strong&gt; received the Pat Lamb Award. &lt;strong&gt;Megan Morrison&lt;/strong&gt; and &lt;strong&gt;Sarah Nielsen&lt;/strong&gt; are the recipients of the Ele Hansen Award. &lt;strong&gt;CJ Dale&lt;/strong&gt; was honored with the Mel Taube Award, while &lt;strong&gt;Erik Klontz&lt;/strong&gt; was given the Warren L. Beson Memorial Award.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<description>&lt;p&gt;The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced that Carleton College middle hitter &lt;strong&gt;Jessa Youso&lt;/strong&gt; received All-Region Honorable Mention. She becomes the first Knight selected for all-region recognition since 2007. A two-time All-MIAC selection, she ranked second in the conference as she posted the second-highest single-season attack percentage (.352) in Carleton historyl&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<title>Knights Push No. 7 St. Thomas to the Brink, Can't Complete the Upset</title>
<description>&lt;p&gt;The Carleton College volleyball team did what no other conference squad could do, take No. 7 ranked University of St. Thomas to a full five sets. The Knights overcame a one-set deficit and nearly completed the upset, falling 25-21, 17-25, 20-25, 26-24, 12-15 in the semifinals of the MIAC Playoffs. Senior &lt;strong&gt;Jessa Youso&lt;/strong&gt; led all players with 20 kills and figured in six blocks. The Knights, listed eighth in the NCAA regional rankings released earlier on Thursday, are squarely on the bubble and must now cross their fingers until Monday morning to see if Carleton receives an at-large bid to the 64-team NCAA Tournament.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<description>&lt;p&gt;With the Carleton volleyball team in need of a win to clinch a spot in the 2012 MIAC Volleyball Playoffs, senior &lt;strong&gt;Jessa Youso&lt;/strong&gt; stepped up in a big way for the Knights last week. The middle hitter delivered a career performance to lead her squad to a come-from-behind, 3-2 victory over Saint Mary's last Wednesday, and finished the week with 34 kills and nine total blocks to help lead Carleton into the postseason. For her performance, Youso was named the MIAC Volleyball Hitter-of-the-Week.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<title>Knights Rally for Five-Set Win at SMU, Clinch Playoff Berth</title>
<description>&lt;p&gt;Senior &lt;strong&gt;Jessa Youso&lt;/strong&gt; made sure she wouldn't end her career without a trip to the postseason, pounding out a career-best 23 kills to lead the Carleton College volleyball team (17-8, 6-4 MIAC) to a thrilling five-set win and punch the Knights' ticket for the MIAC Playoffs. Carleton dropped the first two sets before rallying back and forcing the match to go the distance. In the deciding fifth set, Youso tallied five kills including match point as the Knights prevailed 14-25, 21-25, 25-18, 25-18 and 15-11.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
