Lamb, Hansen, Taube, and Beson Award Winners Announced for 2012-13

In conjunction with Carleton’s annual Honors Convocation, the Physical Education, Athletics, and Recreation (P.E.A.R.) Department announced its annual senior awards. Sophie Pilhofer and Jessa Youso received the Pat Lamb Award. Megan Morrison and Sarah Nielsen are the recipients of the Ele Hansen Award. CJ Dale was honored with the Mel Taube Award, while Erik Klontz was given the Warren L. Beson Memorial Award.

Skylar Tsutsui Voted to All-MIAC Squad

One of the most explosive players in the league, sophomore Skylar Tsutsui was a repeat selection when the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its season-ending basketball award winners on Wednesday. Last season, Tsutsui was named to the MIAC’s All-First-Year Team and was All-MIAC honorable mention, but this year she was voted as one of the top players in the league by the conference coaches.

Knights Suffer Overtime Loss to Hamline on Senior Day

The Carleton College women’s basketball team’s final contest of the season certainly was a memorable one. The home team, which honored its four seniors during a pre-game ceremony, put up quite the fight against the playoff bound squad from Hamline University, eventually falling, 66-60 in overtime. Junior Emma Purfeest and sophomore Skylar Tsutsui put up 14 points apiece for the Knights, but the big performances were not enough to send the senior class off with a victory.
