<title>Knights Earn Academic All-Conference</title>
<description>&lt;p&gt;The MIAC has announced its list of academic all-conference honorees for winter and spring sports, with 21 Carleton student-athletes earning distinction. Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior, or senior with a minimum GPA of 3.5. Additionally, student-athletes in basketball, baseball, softball and tennis must compete in half of their team’s contests, while those in swimming &amp;amp; diving and track &amp;amp; field must qualify for the conference finals.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<title>Knights Earn All-America Honorable Mention at NCAA Championships</title>
<description>&lt;p&gt;Four Carleton College athletes earned All-America honorable mention at the 27th Annual NCAA Division III Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships in Oxford, Ohio. Senior &lt;strong&gt;Jen Gratz&lt;/strong&gt;, junior &lt;strong&gt;Kaarin Taylor&lt;/strong&gt;, sophomore &lt;strong&gt;Kate Alexander&lt;/strong&gt; and rookie &lt;strong&gt;Kale Zicafoose&lt;/strong&gt; earned a berth at nationals in the 200-yard medley relay and also swam a trio other relays during the three-day event. The quartet earned All-America honorable mention in both the 200 and 400 medley relays, while Alexander received All-America honorable mention status in each of her three solo events, the 200- and 400-yard individual medleys and 200-yard breaststroke.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<description>&lt;p&gt;The Carleton College women’s swimming and diving team finished third at the 2008 MIAC Championships. Super sophomore &lt;strong&gt;Kate Alexander&lt;/strong&gt; (Tigard, Ore./Tualatin) repeated as the conference’s Swimmer of the Year. In tonight’s final session, she successfully defended her 200 breaststroke title, doing so in meet record time of 2:22.75 to capture her third individual crown of the championships.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<title>MIAC Championships - Day 2 Recap</title>
<description>&lt;p&gt;After two days of competition the Carleton College women’s swimming and diving team sits third at the MIAC Championships, only six points behind St. Olaf College for second. The Knights won the first four races of the evening session. To say that &lt;strong&gt;Kate Alexander&lt;/strong&gt; (So./Tigard, Ore./Tualatin) cruised to the victory in the 400 IM would be an understatement as she obliterated her own conference record by four-and-a-half seconds with a time of 4:30.33, an NCAA automatic qualifier. For the second straight year she swept the 200 and 400 IM at the MIAC championships.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<title>Swimming and Diving: MIAC Championships - Day 1 Recap</title>
<description>&lt;p&gt;After the first full day of action at the MIAC Swimming and Diving Championships, the Carleton College Knights find themselves near the top of the leaderboard in both the men’s and women’s team competitions. Sophomore &lt;strong&gt;Kate Alexander&lt;/strong&gt; continued her domination of the medley events, shattering her own conference and meet mark as she cruised to the victory in the 200 IM with an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 2:06.94, more than two seconds better than last year’s time. She later raced on Carleton's winning 400 medley relay. &lt;strong&gt;Ted Marschall&lt;/strong&gt; broke his own conference record in taking top honors in the 200 individual medley with a winning time of 1:49.72, the fastest recorded time in Division III this season. He held off St. Olaf’s Nelson Westby, the defending champ, by nearly two seconds.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

In the men’s 200 IM, junior &lt;strong&gt;Ted Marschall&lt;/strong&gt; (Burnsville, Minn.) broke the conference record with an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 1:50.38. &lt;strong&gt;Kate Alexander&lt;/strong&gt; (So./Tigard, Ore.) narrowly missed breaking her own conference mark in the women’s 200 IM, posting the prelims best time 2:09.26.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
