<title>Quartet Barely Miss National Bids</title>
<description>&lt;p&gt;The Carleton College women’s track and field team had a strong spring season and four Knights just missed earning a bid to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships. &lt;strong&gt;Ruth Steinke&lt;/strong&gt;, &lt;strong&gt;Colette Celichowski&lt;/strong&gt;, &lt;strong&gt;Amelia Campbell&lt;/strong&gt;, and &lt;strong&gt;Kao Sutton&lt;/strong&gt; all turned in All-Conference performances at this season’s MIAC Outdoor Championships, but they just missed qualifying for the national championships.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<title>Steinke Wins Steeplechase, Celichowski Breaks 1500-Meter Mark at UW-LaCrosse Qualifier</title>
<description>&lt;p&gt;LA CROSSE, Wis. – &lt;strong&gt;Ruth Steinke&lt;/strong&gt; (Fy./Lima, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) trimmed eight seconds off her personal best and won the steeplechase, and &lt;strong&gt;Colette Celichowski&lt;/strong&gt; (So./Shorewood, Minn./Minnetonka) broke the school record in the 1500-meter run at the UW-La Crosse Qualifier, a “last chance” meet held at the site of this year’s NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<title>Lamb, Hansen, Taube, and Beson Award Winners Announced for 2012-13</title>
<description>&lt;p&gt;In conjunction with Carleton’s annual Honors Convocation, the Physical Education, Athletics, and Recreation (P.E.A.R.) Department announced its annual senior awards. &lt;strong&gt;Sophie Pilhofer&lt;/strong&gt; and &lt;strong&gt;Jessa Youso&lt;/strong&gt; received the Pat Lamb Award. &lt;strong&gt;Megan Morrison&lt;/strong&gt; and &lt;strong&gt;Sarah Nielsen&lt;/strong&gt; are the recipients of the Ele Hansen Award. &lt;strong&gt;CJ Dale&lt;/strong&gt; was honored with the Mel Taube Award, while &lt;strong&gt;Erik Klontz&lt;/strong&gt; was given the Warren L. Beson Memorial Award.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<title>Steinke’s Steeplechase Title Highlights Day Two at MIAC Championships</title>
<description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Ruth Steinke&lt;/strong&gt; grabbed the spotlight for the Carleton College women’s track and field team as she won the steeplechase at the MIAC Outdoor Championships and established a new personal best time of 11:18.27. That was the Knights’ second event title of the weekend and one of seven All-Conference performances for Carleton, which finished seventh out of 11 teams participating.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<title>Amelia Campbell Earns All-Conference Distinction at MIAC Heptathlon</title>
<description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Amelia Campbell&lt;/strong&gt; earned All-Conference distinction with her third-place showing at the MIAC Heptathlon. She was the only competitor in 14-person field to finish among the top four finishers in all seven events. Campbell’s overall finish was the best by a Knight since Kestrel Schwaiger ’07 won the heptathlon in 2006.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
