Football
Carleton is the highest ranked school west of the Mississippi that offers Division III football and is the highest-ranked school in America that offers a full 10-game schedule and that is eligible for the NCAA Playoffs. The Knights have 61 winning seasons and more than 450 wins in the history of the program. In the first season of the new coaching regime in 2006, Carleton set school passing, rushing, and receiving records. Football is one of only five programs in the conference to win a MIAC title since 1990. The Knights won the 1992 title outright.

- Coach Profile: Kurt Ramler
Kurt Ramler, the 1996 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Most Valuable Player and former Academic All-American took over as Carleton's head football coach in February 2006. He led the Knights to an upset of NCAA Playoff qualifier Bethel in his first season as the Knights also set many offensive team records.
- Student-Athlete Profile: Phil Blue '10
Phil Blue is a junior psychology major from Northbrook, Ill. He is a running back and is the leading returning rusher for the Knights this season. In 2007 he earned Academic All-Conference honors.
- Student-Athlete Profile: Matt Frank '09
Matt Frank is a senior wide receiver for the Knights from Caledonia, Minnesota. He was named to the All-MIAC and All-West Region first teams and the All-American second team in 2006.
