What is your favorite part of Carleton Golf?
I like the entire dynamic of the team--on a social AND competitive level--and the balance between working hard and having fun.

Why did you chose Carleton?
I was drawn to its small size, academic prestige, the benefits of playing a lot of golf, and its unique character.

What is the difference between college and high school athletics?
I was very prepared coming from a tough high school conference with pretty intense competition. College is a notch above that but it's great because it doesn't have to be incredibly serious if you don't want it to be- that's the beauty of Division III sports, you work hard at it but are also able to have fun.

Has college athletics been what you expected?
Pretty much, I was really nervous for my first tournament but then I realized that, because I had a decent amount of experience, I could handle it. The dynamic of the team, coaching, and personal improvement have definitely exceeded my expectations.

How do you balance academics, sports and other activities?
You learn to communicate with professors and prioritize. It gets tough being gone all weekend with lots of homework, but you figure out what works for you in terms of study habits and organization. I also find activities to be a great stress-reliever.

What should potential recruits know about Carleton and playing golf for the Knights?
Recruits should know that Carleton is a highly academic school but very manageable! in general, the student body is incredibly curious and diverse so open-mindedness is a must.
