Knights Basketball in Thailand 2004

On June 13, 10 members of the Carleton women's basketball team, Coach Tammy Metcalf-Filzen and nine other party members departed for Thailand. The team is returning to the country for the second time in four years, as they first made the trek following the 2000 school year. During their two week stay the 20-member group will primarily stay in a remote Karen village, spending the bulk of their time giving clinics, assisting with planting/harvesting of the rice crop and lending a hand wherever needed. The group also plans to bring used sports equipment, jerseys and other items that village people may find useful in establishing basketball in the community.

We'll provide journal entries from the players and other party members throughout their trip, as well as photos they are able to send back to us. Please check back often for updates throughout their trip. The team is scheduled to return on June 29.
