    Brandt Davis named to D3football.com Team-of-the-Week

    Brandt Davis turned in one of the better performances by a MIAC placekicker in recent years and was recognized as the conference’s Special Team Athlete-of-the-Week. Now the sophomore has secured another honor as he was selected to the D3football.com national Team-of-the-Week.

    Brandt Davis recognized as MIAC Special Teams Athlete-of-the-Week

    The Carleton football team scored its first victory of the season Saturday with a 40-14 win over Knox, and the leg of kicker Brandt Davis was a big factor in the victory. The Knights sophomore sent all six of his attempts through the uprights and played a huge role in the field-position game with his kickoffs. For his performance, Davis was honored Monday as the MIAC Football Special Teams Player-of-the-Week award.

    After a tough road loss last week, the Carleton College football team got off to a great start in its home opener, putting points on the scoreboard with each of its first five possessions en route to a 40-14 win over Knox College.

    Knights unable to renew possession of Book of Knowledge

    Despite scoring two touchdowns in the second half, the Carleton Knights (0-1) dropped their season opener, 17-14, to Macalester College (1-0) on a last-second 37-yard field goal. Senior Colby Seyferth paced the Knights offense with six catches for 114 yards and a touchdown in his first game action since 2011.

    Swimming accident claims the life of De’Angelo Williams ’12

    The Carleton College community mourns the death of De’Angelo Williams ’12, who tragically drowned in a swimming accident on a western Wisconsin lake on Sunday, July 6.Williams, 24, was a political science and international relations major. He was also a three-year starter on the Knights football team, accumulating 74 tackles in 28 games to go along with five interceptions.
