Lien Picks Up All-America Honors

VOORHEES, N.J. – Carleton College running back Jon Lien (Sr./Lindstrom, Minn./Chisago Lakes) was recently honored by, as the website named him to its honorable mention All-America Team.

The senior had a memorable season, breaking the Carleton single-game rushing record with 259 yards against Macalester College on October 22 and moving into third place on the school’s all-time rushing list in the season finale against Gustavus Adolphus College.  Lien finished his career with 2,390 yards on the ground.  He ran for 545 of those yards this season and accounted for three touchdowns, pushing his career total to 20.

This honor adds to the list of national accolades earned by Lien for his performance during the 2011 season.  He was named to the Team-of-the-Week and selected as a Beyond Sports College Network Athlete-of-the-Week for his record-breaking performance against Macalester. is the nation’s first and only Division III pro day and combine for seniors after the regular season. All-Americans represent the board’s best seniors in Division III.
