Carleton is the highest ranked school west of the Mississippi that offers Division III football and is the highest-ranked school in America that offers a full 10-game schedule and that is eligible for the NCAA Playoffs. The Knights have 61 winning seasons and more than 450 wins in the history of the program. In the first season of the new coaching regime in 2006, Carleton set school passing, rushing, and receiving records. Carleton also had its first win over a ranked opponent in 17 seasons, finished in the top 10 in Division III in turnover margin, and had its first All-American since 1992.
