Carleton is the only school among the top 10 liberal arts schools (as ranked by U.S. News & World Report) that offers a full 10-game schedule and is eligible for the NCAA Division III Football Playoffs.

The Knights have 57 winning seasons and more than 450 victories in the history of the program. Over the last six seasons, 10 Carleton players have received All-Region accolades for their excellence on the field.

History:
First year of football was 1883, making it the 10th-oldest program in Division III... Played in 900th game in 2011 season, becoming third Minnesota college or university to reach the milestone... Won eight Midwest Conference titles from 1922 to 1982, before joining MIAC in 1983… Captured MIAC title in 1992.
