LARAMIE, Wyo. – Marcus Huderle (Eden Prairie, Minn.) paced the Carleton College men’s cross country team at the season-opening University of Wyoming Invitational. The sophomore placed 30th out of 53 racers as the Knights competed with a quartet of NCAA Division I programs. Huderle crossed the finish line at 24:02.
Classmate Jacob Hoerger (Chapel Hill, N.C./Chapel Hill) was next at 24:20. After senior Kian Flynn (Otis, Ore./Taft) completed the 4.25-mile course, Thor Laack-Veeder (Madison, Wis./Lafollette) was the first rookie to score points for the Knights as he placed 39th.
Host Wyoming and Colorado State University tied for the team title with 33 points. Utah Valley University finished third with 60 points, and the University of Northern Colorado edged Carleton 129-136.
The Knights next race at the St. Olaf Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 17.
