Rohrbach Matches Career Best in Final Round of SJU Invite

SAUK CENTER, Minn. -- Ned Rohrbach (So./Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) fired an even-par 72 for the final round and finished in a tie for eighth place—fourth among Division III golfers—with an overall score of 149 as the Carleton College men’s golf team placed 18th out of 23 teams at the Saint John’s Fall Invitational.

Rohrbach shot a five-over par 77 at Greystone Golf Club on Saturday and followed that up with his 72 on Sunday at Blackberry Ridge Golf Club. The latter score matched his career low and tied for the best round of the weekend by a D-III player.

Brian Herlihy (So./Danbury, Conn./Immaculate High School) was consistent, carding an 80 each day, while Aaron Buckley (Sr./San Diego, Calif./Francis Parker School) totaled 166 strokes for the weekend.

Rookie Matt Meier (Fy./ North Muskegon, Mich./North Muskegon) contributed to the scoring on Saturday, and day two saw Jorde Ranum (Jr./Spring Lake Park, Minn./Spring Lake Park) ride his short game to the third-best round of his collegiate career as he carded a 79.

Carleton totaled 330 shots playing in the rain on Saturday and tallied 315 on Sunday. This was the Knights best finish at this event since 2010.

The Knights are next slated to compete from Sept. 28-30 at the Twin Cities Classic.
