Waseca, Minn. -- Aaron Buckley (Jr./San Diego, Calif./Francis Parker School) was medalist with a 75 of the Knights season opener against Bethany Lutheran and St. Mary's University. The Knights finished second with a team score of 320. Bethany Lutheran won the meet on their home course, the Waseca Lakeside Club.
Buckley led the meet at the turn by one stroke. He birdied the final hole to secure the first medalist honor of his collegiate career.
Brian Chesley (Sr./Mankato, Minn./Mankato West) finished strong with a even par 36 on the final nine for Knights' second-best score of 78.
Jorde Ranum (So./Spring Lake Park, Minn.) and Jeff Berg (Jr./Wood Dale, Ill./Wheaton Academy) rounded out the Knights scoring with 83 and 85 respectively. Berg followed Chesley's lead and bounced from a difficult start to shoot a 39 on the back nine.
The Knights are back in action on Saturday and Sunday at Majestic Oaks Golf Course in Ham Lake, Minn. for the Augsburg Invitational.
