COON RAPIDS, Minn – Sophomore Ned Rohrbach (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) carded a final-round score of three-over par 75, which was one of the ten best scores of the day, as the Carleton College men’s golf squad finished ninth in the team standings at the MIAC Championships.

The Knights trimmed four strokes off their second-round score and totaled 325 shots during the final round of play at Bunker Hills Golf Club. Rohrbach’s three-day total of 14-over par 230, earned him a share of 12th place.

Aaron Buckley (Sr./San Diego, Calif./Francis Parker School) played very consistent golf all three rounds, shooting scores of 80, 81, and 81 for a 242 total. Brian Herlihy (So./Danbury, Conn./Immaculate High School) added an 85 in the final round, giving him an overall score of 252.  Jeff Berg  (Sr./Wood Dale, Ill./Wheaton Academy) finished one shot behind Herlihy for the tournament, while Jorde Ranum (Jr./Spring Lake Park, Minn./Spring Lake Park) concluded the scoring for the Knights with an 84, his best round of the three-day championships.

Saint John’s University led after each of the three rounds and claimed the championship by an eight-shot margin over runner-up University of St. Thomas. The individual crown went to the Johnnie’s Brett Draxler.

The Knights are not slated to compete again until March when they will tee it up in Myrtle Beach, S.C. during their spring break competition trip.
